Bukae & Co. started with a simple feeling: I wanted to make everyday things feel a little more special.
After moving to Canada from India, I found myself missing the colours, textures and little details I had grown up around. I also wanted to create something of my own; something that brought together my love for beautiful, useful things and my belief that we don’t always need to be doing more to make a day meaningful.
And so, Bukae & Co. was born.
Bukae makes beautiful everyday essentials designed to help you appreciate the life you’re already living, from the bag you take to the market, to the pouch that comes along for your everyday adventures.
Made by hand, not made to be identical.
Many of our pieces are made using traditional Indian wood-block printing, a craft passed down through generations. Each design is printed by hand, one impression at a time, by artisans using carved wooden blocks and fabric dyes.
Because every print is made by hand, no two pieces are perfectly alike. You may notice little variations in colour, placement or texture, and that’s part of what makes each one yours.
Our products are designed in Canada by me and handcrafted in India, working with skilled artisans and small-scale makers.
Bukae is a reminder that a pause isn’t stepping away from life. It is noticing you’re already living it.
